2017 {A year in review}

I love looking back at all of my shoots at the end of each year. It makes me so thankful for all the moments I get to share with awesome new clients as well as my wonderful loyal clients who I call friends now. It also inspires me going into the new year with all the new opportunities that are to come! I love being a photographer. It truly was my dream since I was a little girl. The fact that I get to be a full time stay at home mom, and also have my dream job makes me grateful everyday… even on the the days after sleepless nights with my boys and the shoots with challenging lighting… I always remember how lucky I am.

 2017 was a tough year personally. I lost my Dad after his 5+ year battle with ALS. It’s been a year of ups and downs, and the grieving process is definitely something you can’t fully prepare for and I know it will continue to be a roller coaster of emotions, but as with every challenge in life, it comes with so many lessons. My Dad continues to be a very strong presence in my everyday, and I miss him terribly, but I am so thankful for him and the time I had with him.

I’ve always loved taking photographs, and always felt it was important but after losing my Dad I feel such a deeper importance. There is not much else in life that can bring back memories quite like a photograph. Capturing moments of love, laughter, and connection between other people makes me so happy, and knowing the joy those photos will hopefully bring to them throughout their lives makes me even happier. So at the end of this challenging year, I am filled with gratitude and hope for what is to come.

Thank you to all of my wonderful clients! And thank you to everyone for all the love and support over the last year. Wishing you all the very best in 2018!! Here are some moments from my shoots over the last year…
