Hello! Welcome to the elle images blog and thanks so much for stopping by! This is where you will find my most recent work.

A little info about me... my name is Laura, and I am the owner and photographer of elle images. I was born and raised in Aloha, Oregon but I have always been a sunshine girl which is a big reason why I found myself in Arizona for my last years of college. After getting my degree in photography from Northern Arizona University, I decided to move back to the Great Northwest. I started elle images in 2005 and I feel so grateful to have had the amazing clients that I have over the years, along with the support from my friends and family. And also starting my business lead me to meet my husband while we were both shooting a wedding in 2007. He was a wedding videographer, and still does video work on occasion, and always has a creative project in the works. In 2011 we welcomed our first son, Hayden, into the world and in 2016 we welcomed our second son, Ryland, into the world. My boys are my everything and being their mom is the thing I am most grateful for in this life! Motherhood has taught me so much and I think has made me a better photographer (and human) too. I love photographing people but children are what really inspire me the most. Each child is unique and I always try my best to connect with, and photograph who they truly are on my shoots.
No matter what I am doing my goal these days is to do my best to enjoy each moment as it comes and stay in the present. One thing I have learned is that life will continue to surprise us and we never really know what is just around the corner, but after all the highs and lows I have been through, I welcome it all and know everything and every person has something beautiful for me to embrace or to teach me.

I specialize in natural light, lifestyle photography and I absolutely love what I do. Being able to share special moments with people in their lives and create record of those memories for them makes me thankful everyday. Not to mention all the friendships I have made along the way. 2013 Highlights

Happy New Year everyone!!

2013 was another amazing year for elle images!! I cannot thank all of my clients enough for trusting me to photograph the special moments in their lives, and for the referrals! I started my business in 2005 and every year since then, and every day really, I know how fortunate I am to have my dream job!! You all make it possible, thank you thank you thank you!

On a personal note, becoming a mother is still proving to be the best thing I have ever done and I could not love my little boy more. He makes me better at everything I do, without question. I’m lucky to have an incredibly supportive and caring husband as well and I feel like after I got married, and actually wore the (fancy) shoes of a bride, I became a better wedding photographer. This is definitely true for my photography of babies and families after becoming a mother. There are moments that I understand the importance of now, that I didn’t before. Its a whole new love that you can’t really understand until you feel it. I’m so lucky to experience that love everyday and it truly has made me love what I do even more. There is value in the photos I take. They matter to all of you, and they absolutely matter to me. My photos don’t hang in an art gallery, they hang on the walls in your home… and that is the biggest honor of all!! Being a photographer is a huge piece of who I am as a whole person and I really take pride in what I do. I hope that everyone who allows me (and my camera) into their world is able to feel how much I care about the photos I take for them. Thank you again!!

2013 had its highs, as well as a few lows… one devastating low was that my father was diagnosed with ALS. I knew basically nothing about this awful disease before my Dad’s diagnosis, and I find this seems to be the case with most of the people I talk to. Much of my time over the next year and hopefully many years to come will be devoted to helping my Dad in various ways which is why I will be taking on a bit less work. I also want to document his life the best that I can in hopes to bring more awareness to the disease to help in the fight against it, but I also want to share more about my Dad and what a wonderful man he is as he continues to fight couragesly. I am sharing this because I truly feel like you are all friends, not just clients. You share your lives with me and I want to share mine with you. I will still be working full time… I am just limiting the total number of shoots I take each month to make sure I have the time to do the best work for my clients and be the daughter, mother and wife that I want to be and need to be right now in my life. I think balance is an important key in life. Becoming a mother definitely taught me this. We all have many roles in life and each of my roles matter to me so I am finding the best way to balance them all to be successful and happy. I think that my work will be even more successful because of it too!

With that all being said, I wanted to share images from all of my shoots over the last year! I chose one shot from each shoot that I did. It was so much fun to reflect back on all of these wonderful moments of love, laughter and life! There are a ridiculous amount of photos (I was very fortunate to be quite the busy lady this year) so I apologize, but I am trying to make up for my lack of blog posting here. 🙂 I cannot wait for all that is to come in 2014!!! It is going to be a wonderful year!!!!
